Utah Scientific today
announced that its UTAH-400/XL, the first 1056x1056 router
in the industry to fit in a single equipment rack, earned
a prestigious Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit award at the
2008 NAB Show in Las Vegas. Judged by industry professionals,
Broadcast Engineering's Pick Hit award program has recognized
innovative technology that marks a substantial improvement
over the status quo and improves the user's everyday work.
The UTAH-400/XL joins the company's widely successful UTAH-400
product family and offers all the well-known advantages
including redundant power supplies, cooler and more reliable
operation, and signal format flexibility as well as
the ability to handle the new 3-Gbps progressive-scan HD signal
formats. Readily scalable using a single family of matrix
building blocks, the UTAH-400/XL saves a significant amount
of space and power when compared to other large routing systems.
In addition, the award-winning router uses industry-standard
75-ohm BNC connectors for I/O, providing the highest-ever
I/O density on a router of its size.
"Utah Scientific has always been about developing the
products that our customers need to meet the challenges of
an evolving industry, and we are very happy to see the industry's
enthusiastic response to the UTAH-400/XL," said Tom Harmon,
CEO of Utah Scientific. "Of course, it is always gratifying
when the vision and hard work of our team is recognized with
a prestigious award like BE's Pick Hit."
