Vislink showcases ADVENT Newswift HD, a complete
vehicle mounted satellite system for High Definition, at NAB

Vislink is
showing its latest satellite antenna, the ADVENT Newswift
HD, for the first time at NAB. The Newswift HD antenna is
a fully integrated vehicle-mounted satellite system designed
to support High Definition video and high power C-band, Ku-band
and DBS-Band RF systems. It is available with 1.8m and 1.5m
antennas.
Newswift HD has an enlarged weather proof electronics enclosure
(pod) that enables it to accommodate pairs of redundant SSPAs,
including:
Two 400W C or Ku-band TWTAs, either as 1+1 phase combined
or 1:1 redundant pairs
1:1 redundant pair of 750W C or Ku-band TWTAs
1:1 redundant pair of outdoor SSPAs.
The NewSwift’s compact and lightweight design is ergonomically
styled to meet the operational requirements of the antenna
and the vehicle onto which it will be mounted.
Vislink has enhanced the 1.5m and 1.8m NewSwift HD antennas
with a new feedarm with interchangeable multi-band feed cartridge
assemblies which will enable the customer to change the antenna
operating frequency in a short space of time.
5000 Series satellite subsystems for High Definition
Vislink Newswift HD Antenna utilizes the ADVENT 5000 Series
compact and lightweight electronics. Each unit measures just
210mm wide by 350mm deep, or half the size of similar, competitors’
products.
The 5000 Series units are designed to work with all of the
ADVENT portable and mobile satellite antennas for HD and SD.
The DCU5000 and the AUC5000 block upconverter module are built
into the enlarged pod of the Newswift HD in the demonstrated
model.
Also on show at NAB is ADVENT DVE5000 SD/HD switchable video
exciter. This is a 1U ½ rack width MPEG encoder/modulator
with an integrated HPA controller. This comes with MPEG-4
PT10, H264 SD and HD 4:2:0/4:2:2 encoding, SNMP and Web browser
control options.
As well as the DVE5000 video exciter, the 5000 series product
range offers a range of antenna controllers, IRD5000 receiver/decoder,
ADM5000 IP modem, AMR5000 multiplexer/router, APS5000 protection
switch and ASC5000 system controller – a complete package
for SD or HD broadcast.
