The Vitec
Group has signed an agreement to acquire Litepanels, manufacturers
of LED lighting systems for the television, broadcast, video
and film industries

Once completed, Litepanels will join other Vitec brands such
as Sachtler, Vinten, Vinten Radamec, Autoscript, Anton/Bauer,
Clear-Com and Nucomm. Litepanels manufactures award-winning
LED lighting products and are a complementary addition to
Vitec's other activities.
Litepanels has developed an innovative range of LED on-camera
and stand-mounted lighting systems, which have gained broad
acceptance with lighting and broadcast professionals. Backed
by a strong patent portfolio, today the company is known as
a leader in the media lighting industry.
The products created by Litepanels, which have won various
awards, are used both on-location and in studio environments,
including installations at the White House press briefing
room. Litepanels' LED lights are beneficial due to their low
power consumption and low heat generation as compared to traditional
light sources. The trend toward LED lighting is expected to
continue to grow rapidly as lighting directors convert to
this technology.
Based in North Hollywood, California, Litepanels was founded
in 2005 by five partners with extensive experience as lighting
designers or lighting directors. All will continue with the
company after the acquisition.
According to Litepanels President Rudy Pohlert, "We are
certain that our new association with the forward-thinking
Vitec Group will help bring the widespread benefits of our
inventive lighting systems to the broadcast and video community
worldwide.
