Vividas Delivers Broadcast Quality Video Live to Millions

Vividas, the full screen video streaming technology company, today launches VivCast Live Professional. The new streaming technology delivers full-screen broadcast quality video to millions of simultaneous viewers, using less bandwidth than ever before. VivCast Live Professional is the only streaming solution with multiple levels of redundancy, guaranteeing an uninterrupted online viewing experience, equal to traditional broadcasters.

Using http streaming architecture, the Vividas solution breaks streamed IP video down into a sequence of small, cacheable files, ultimately reducing the chances of failure with a large number of viewers. This ensures that VivCast Live Professional is able to deliver video to millions, rather than thousands, of simultaneous online viewers with no reduction in picture or delivery quality.

The technology also guarantees an uninterrupted viewing experience through multiple levels of redundancy. VivCast Live Professional is the only fully redundant streaming solution available, delivering a broadcast quality experience regardless of the number of viewers. While traditional IP video solutions rely on expensive multicast servers, or dedicated video serving systems, Vividas uses the existing, standard web infrastructure. This avoids the need to upgrade systems or provision the second mile, and bypasses corporate/home firewalls via the use of standard ports and http.

As with all of Vividas' streaming solutions, there is no requirement for viewers to pre-install the media player or any other software. Vividas streams the latest version of its own player onto the viewer's system when they are watching, and removes it from the machine at the end of viewing. This eliminates concerns about incompatible, old software and means that content can run on virtually any PC, reaching the widest possible audience.

VivCast Live Professional will support key Vividas products including Corporate, Event, Internet TV and Pay-Per-View.
