It is the second year in a row Widevine has won the award for Best Content Protection, this time for a solution that has also been selected by three major studios for their own digital media initiatives.

Judging is conducted by a panel of independent industry experts that includes CTOs, senior technologists from international broadcasters, network operators and industry analysts. Cable & Satellite International defines the following criteria for judges to rank winners: technical innovation, product usefulness, uniqueness and proven deployments. Judges selected Cypher for the PC because of its unique ability to secure all forms of digital media to PC and PC-based consumer platforms.

The Cable & Satellite International Product of the Year Awards 2007 continue to maintain a reputation as the most comprehensive and competitive technology awards in the industry. This year more than 160 entries were received from over 80 companies in the areas of Internet, Cable, Telco and Satellite TV.
