May 23, 2008

Xytech Systems Corporation, a leading provider of software solutions that improve, automate, and streamline business workflows, resource scheduling, media library management, and digital workflow automation, announced today that Scripps Networks has selected Xytech's software for its production operations in Knoxville (TN), Nashville (TN) and New York City.

Scripps is the dominant media and marketing company in the home, food and lifestyle categories, developing content for television and the Internet, in which on-air programming is complemented with an array of broadband video, social media areas and e-commerce components. Its lifestyle brands include HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, Fine Living Network and country music network Great American Country (GAC). Companion Web sites collectively attract over 18 million unique visitors monthly. Knoxville, Tenn.-based Scripps Networks has launched HGTV and Food Network in high definition and is aggressively developing its emerging media platforms for broadband and video on demand. Scripps Networks also acquired popular recipe Web site Recipezaar.com and Incando Corp. in order to deepen its user-generated content capabilities. Scripps Networks programming is seen in more than 175 countries on all seven continents around the world.

Scripps Networks operates multiple studios, field, post-production, and control room operations across three geographically diverse locations with the need to improve business workflows, optimize resource management, and increase user productivity. The company wanted an easy-to-use application that can be easily integrated with other applications while automating as many manual functions as possible. In addition, Scripps Networks needed a flexible platform to satisfy future business needs. The solution needed to schedule personnel, equipment, rooms, and resources easily and efficiently, and be able to aggregate and amortize costs associated with individual programming and creative services productions.

After careful evaluation of all possible vendor solutions, Scripps Networks selected the Xytech Enterprise software. The Xytech software best meets Scripps Networks' requirements, both from a functionality perspective and application breadth. In addition, it meets other current and future requirements including separation between operational divisions, Great Plains accounting integration, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Furthermore, the Xytech software can be easily configured and customized to Scripps Networks' specific workflow operations.

David Metz, senior vice president, production operations, Scripps Networks, comments, "I anticipate a smooth cut-over, and I am looking forward to the ability to extract data from the system. This will assist our managers in keeping operations as efficient as possible. The Xytech sales and support teams we've dealt with have been exceedingly professional, attentive, patient and responsive. Customer support, indeed customer-vendor partnership, is very important to us and our success."

Ron Peeters, Executive Vice President of Xytech Systems Corporation, comments, "We are honored to be selected by Scripps Network as their business workflow and resource scheduling solution of choice, especially since Scripps is such a leading lifestyle media and broadcasting organization. It also reiterates the Xytech software as the leading media business solution for the media, entertainment, and broadcasting industry".
